Library Curriculum: Information LiteracyInformation Literacy Instruction is at the core of what we do. Our instructional goal in Amity’s Library Information Center is to teach students how to become lifelong users of information. We have aligned our curricular goals to the standards for student learning established by the American Association of School Librarians (2007), and to Amity's Core Values and Learning Expectations (2018). These standards take students from recognizing situations in which they need to find information, through effective strategies for searching, organizing, using, and sharing that information. Using digital technologies is an important component throughout the information use process. You can view the curriculum of Amity's library program, and access resources that teachers can use to embed information literacy in their content curriculae.
